Sectarian conflict in northwest reaches seven-day ceasefire agreement

Sectarian clashes in the northwestern Kurram region have so far left at least 82 people dead and 156 injured. After mediation, the conflicting parties agreed to a seven-day ceasefire.
Under the ceasefire agreement, both sides agreed to release the hostages captured and return the bodies of the dead.
Last Thursday (21st), a civilian convoy was ambushed by gunmen, resulting in at least 40 deaths. The two sides fought gun battles for several days, causing many casualties.
After mediation by the local government mediation team, the two sides agreed to a ceasefire.
The two sides had clashed many times before.
