BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Mayor Darwin Estrañero of Tabuk City in Kalinga has contracted COVID-19.
In a post on Facebook, Estrañero said he experienced fever, body pain, headache and his oxygen level dropped on Jan. 14. He tested positive for the virus on Jan. 16.
He said he was confined in a hospital due to mild pneumonia.
“It’s a good thing that I am fully vaccinated, otherwise my symptoms could have been much worse and my stay in the hospital could have been prolonged,” Estrañero said.
He said he has no more symptoms and continues to discharge his duties while completing his seven-day quarantine.
